Leola was the site Dart settled on when the company decided to branch out beyond Michigan in 1964. The site grew with the company and remains one of our largest manufacturing facilities. The sprawling campus has about 1,400 employees and more than 3 million square feet under roof.
Leola is a rich farming area with deep connections to the Pennsylvania Dutch community. Much of the tourism in the area (handmade clothes and crafts; flea markets) is centered on the Amish communities that call Leola home.
Fun fact: The name Leola is a combination of the Leacock and Glenola train station that once served the area.
